    69 corvette T-top chrome moldings

I am getting ready to paint my car and the painter doesn't want to remove the moldings. Since they are crimped, are they like barb that goes into the fiberglass? or do they slide off after removing rivets, screws and getting under the crimp? any guidance would be appreciated!!!

If you don't remove them, the paint edge at the molding will be excessive. R&R of the moldings is not that hard but certainly must be done carefully.

All competent body shops can take those off. Insist that they be removed prior to painting. Just had my car painted and they were removed and replaced by my shop and they look flawless.
