    73-74 Radio Delete (UL5) Ignition Shielding ?

Was the top Chrome ( distributor cover) Ignition Shielding installed on the 454 radio Delete (UL5) cars? For that matter on the 350's as well? There was only a very small amount delivered this way. Need some clarification for the 73-74 revision.
    Thanks

I seriously doubt that any of the shielding was present on a radio delete vehicle, learned a long time ago never to say never but! This would be an expense item the bean counters would have been all over. I was in the engine development section of a major manufacturer during this time period. The bean counters had a major impact on extra expense items included in a build like this would have been.

      Thanks for the reply Roy,
We know for sure the lower boomerang shielding and the chrome verticals were not used on the Radio Delete (350's) & 454's in 73-74. However the orange support brackets were still installed though because the BB braided plug wires were grounded to the brackets and the rubber grommets were also still used to hold the plug wires on both sides. So I guess we're safe to assume the chrome distributor cover shield was not installed on the UL5 cars?

No "boomerang" shielding was ever used on 454's, radio equipped or not. These were small block only.

All of the shielding was part of the radio option. So, if a radio was not installed, the shielding was also not installed. Of course, it could have happened but it was not TFP.

The shielding supports on the manifold were installed at the engine plants. So, they were present, radio or not.

            Confirm by checking the AIM.

I don't have the 73-74 AIM, but the pages for the radio/stereo options in the 70 AIM show all components to be added for the RPO. These include shielding.
