    WB Head Mark Bolts

    Good Evening Guys,

    I was just chatting with friends about this subject and tried to find my answer from the archives but no luck.

    "W" or "WB" head mark bolts manufactured by Wales Beach are found in different grade strengths:

    0 lines = grade 2
    3 lines = grade 5
    6 lines = grade 8

    Here's our question. What's the grade strength when the bolt's head mark reads "WB1C" or "WB2C"?

    We'd like to know if anybody out there has this info. Thanks! Mike

    WB1C = Course or NC
    WB2C = Fine thread SAE
    The part number of the bolt and where used dictates the GM Engineering specs..

      I have a lot of head bolts and I do not have any with the WB1C or WB2C head mark. It would be nice to have a side view of the bolt you posted. The bolts I use for the front suspension sway bar have the head mark of the bolt pictured.

            This explains things. Thanks a lot.

            I just snagged two shots of a WB1C bolt and it shows coarse threads. I don't have any shots of the WB2C head mark bolt, but I spotted some new ones for sale on-line for the front stabilizer bar kit for midyears. They were fine thread as David explains below. But I did find 2 nice shots of a WB2 bolt. It's grade 8 with fine threads.

            I think I got my answer. Thanks to you guys on the Technical Discussion Board! Here's the shots. Mike

              National Course = NC in this context.

                  Hi Guys,

                  Back up north with the Vette parts. I finally found that WB2C AC compressor muffler bolt I knew I had stashed somewhere.

                  Just made this comparison shot with a WB1C 5/16"-18 X 7/8" length fan shroud bolt.

                  These 2 photos here back up what David Bartush stated in his previous post to this thread.

                  WB1C are coarse thread bolts
                  WB2C are fine thread bolts

                  Mike
