    Nos - ac delco

On AC DELCO "pull-the-string" boxes, are there any decodable entries on the outside of the box that might indicate "When" the item was boxed? Thanks.

The colors used on the box labeling give us some clue about the date of manufacture. Not certain there is anything else.

Okay, orange and white box, black lettering - what's it mean?

orange and white 60s, orange and black 50s. Lots of dated examples if you look at nos regulators on ebay. Makes a lot of difference when purchasing parts such as a 091 coil.

What vintage if it says "Made in China"?

"Made in China" =s "before tariffs". Thanks for the input. I bought another TI Vreg; if 1 of the other 2 works, someone else can "pull the string" on this one.

Hi Loren -- here's a few data points. On the 1116368 volt regulators (which I'm sure are the one's of your interest), here's two. Unfortunately, nothing externally [before string pulled], but inside, there's a dated installation sheet along with installation hardware (screws). My earlier VR body is stamped 4K (November 1964) with instructions dated 11-20-64. The later 368 body is stamped 6A; unfortunately, original instructions are lost.

Wayne, I think you're the only guy that has a "herd" of TI VRs. The 368 Instruction sheet I have is DR-8149 dtd 9-15-64 and is one sheet, both sides. The one I have for a 378 is DR-5010 dtd 2-1-66 and is 4 sides due to its "service replacement" status, ie "When replacing regulator models 1119506, 1119512, 1119515, 1119516, 1119519, or 9000595.....". It would appear
that the UNSTATED instruction would be "Do not attempt until you have read the instructions AT LEAST TWICE.".
