1966 V74 Traffic Hazard Warning Switch

    Hello Guys,

I was just scouring the TDB Archives about the '66 Emergency Flasher Switch and found lots of great info there. I know of a few varieties of these Flarestat Model No. 105's. I've seen Y79, Y113, and Y133. Were all three varieties factory installed on 1966 Corvettes? Or maybe I should ask what does the YXXX number represent? The Y79 and Y133 have the same patent numbers. The Y113 has a different number. Here's a shot of each. Thanks, Mike

The one on my Chevelle has a diffreant number and I just bought anther one and it too had a diffreant number and the harnes plug is diffreant So my guess is the number refers to the harnes connector

Since I can't edit my post my Chevelle flasher number is Y134 and the one from a unknown car is Y79

        Hi Keith,

The reason I'm curious about the YXXX number is that my '66 Corvette's original flasher unit is Y133. I've seen other '66 NCRS members posting the Y79. I recently saw a vendor on-line selling a few different types and he stated his Y133 for sale was an NOS part for a '66 Corvette.

I'm sure there are variations for the '66 Corvette. Does anybody out there know what these YXXX numbers represent? I didn't find this info in the Archives. I'd like to know. I'd hate to purchase the wrong part for my '66 stock. Thanks everyone. Mike

well I am in intrigued to find out my self. and also wonder if other GM cars and trucks, and maybe International Trucks had there own number for each different application. Like I said the two I own are the same expect for the harness plugs.

The NOS '66 Flarestat model 105 flasher that the on-line guy is auctioning tonight shows the original bag with part #3886910 group 2.575. Jives with my Corvette Parts and Accessories Catalog, October 1st, '69. His photos show Y133.
