Was the protype 1970 LT-2 454 engine block aluminum?

I have seen historical publications that reference the July 1969 Press day (for 1970 cars) corvette had 454 ci
427 built by Tom Langdon designated LT-2. One publications indicated it was a all-aluminum derivative of the ZL-1, others say the LT-2 had a 454 cast iron block. I would have thought cast iron, but I may be wrong.
