Well, last week I ordered the build sheet for my 1982 from the National Corvette Museum. Today I received an email from the Museum advising me that the build sheet for my 1982 is not available. It turns out that my 1982 was one of those 8,500 or so 1982 Corvettes where the factory did not provide to the Museum the build sheet. Looking back at the Museum's website, it does, indeed, outline the VIN ranges of 1982 Corvettes where the build sheet is not available (I did not see this when I placed my order). Although I have the original window sticker, I would really like my build sheet. I guess I will have to look through the gas filler surround to see if I can see it on my gas tank or perhaps I can find it under the seats, behind the gauge clusters, under the carpet, or some other strange place. Any suggestions? Has any other 1982 owner been able to locate the build sheet on their 82 when it was not available through the Museum?

Just got an email from an NCRS member who collects 78 Pace Cars. His most recent was a 9 mile automatic with the build sheet stuffed up in the suspension. I've seen them tucked into struts. Add the jack box as well add to your hunt list but gas tank most dependable location.Tom Russo

Re: 1982 build sheet not available from National Corvette Museum - bummer
A functional equivalent of your build sheet is available from GM Archives. This "Shipper" document has dealer code, VIN, Date Shipped, Invoice, RPO Codes, Option Descriptions & Prices, Dealer Name & Address, etc. Available at:
GM Heritage Archive is GM's global repository of historical photography, motion picture film, video, digital media, and vehicle documentation.
Years ago this service was gratis, now $50. (Corvette 1977 & up)

Dave, I did not know about this. Yes, I will order one. I also wanted to order a "Shipping Data Report" from NCRS but when I went to the "car details" page to order it, I could only choose from 1962 to 1975. Maybe the "Vehicle Invoice" from the GM Media Archive is even better. I'll order it. Thanks to everyone for all of your help.- Top
