'65 - Finish Color for Knock-Off Wheel Adapters and Long Nuts

Can any one tell me what finish color the 1965 knock-off wheel adapters (GM part numbers: 3847763 & 3847764) and long nuts (GM part number 3852554) should be? I was told that the adapters could be silver cad and/or gold cad plated and that the nuts can also be either color. Does anyone know if both colors are correct? If not, which is correct silver or gold cad plated?
    Thanks.

Well as for the long one's mine are gold. Purchased these 65 KO in 1972, so used. They came with only the long gold nuts, lots of gold worn off.
I looked at them today and see no other markings on them but did not use magnifying glass so something may exist.
Of course these can not be seen.

I have an NOS one in the GM box that is silver. Also have the three others that are originals which are also silver.

Since they can not be seen the silver/gold question really does not matter, unless inquiring minds want to Know. We do have some members that restore these so they may have detail insight.
The source (bible) would be if somebody has the GM print for the part, most times the finish is called out. Also old Group 8 in parts catalog sometimes lists the finish, one's I have do not.

Remember GM had multi sources so silver v gold could exist if the print was only concerned with a finish to avoid rust.
As for NOS - they may not have been what was used during production, know many parts have been production only, so I don't know
What I can verify is that the NOS parts I purchased recently are silver.

Alan when you say silver do you mean painted silver or a plated finish such as cad or galvanized?

Been referencing Ray's question "could be silver cad and/or gold cad plated and that the nuts can also be either color"
So cad. Also note that my wheels were purchased used in 1972 and I'm just assuming the long nuts were what came on the wheel,
but have no way to confirm.

I'd also say that the long nuts were originally silver or silver-gold (cad ?) plating, although mostly rusty now. The adapter is definitely silver (cad ?), in my case, for these originals off '66 VIN 131xx.
