Are these original 1971 Floor Mats? I do not want to risk destroying originals...

These are the floor mats which came with my 44k mile car, someone recently commented about my "original floor mats" I had assumed they were reproductions however after talking with the owner since 73, he said they were with it when he bought it.

I do not want to use them if they are originals, I will buy some reproductions for use and then use originals for shows.

Thank you in advance for any information anyone can provide.

Jim, I believe those are GM floor matts. I am just not sure if those came from the factory.

      Jim,
They look to be Chevrolet Corvette to me. They were a Chevrolet Accessory and sold over the counter.

Dave S. Is right on.. these were the sucessor to the clear mats that were over the counter for years. These were available as early as the 1970 model year, and probably as far back as the 68 Corvette model change.

            Jim,
These are originals. I bought a new 69 and got a pair of these for it. I think they charged me $11.00 back then. I still have an NOS pair in the GM box. Rich

if I recall Correctly, floor mats are not to be present in a car during ncrs flight judging, so whether yours are Factory Originals or not is not relevant in this context.

New reproduction mats will probably cost more than used "dealer mats" are worth. No harm using them.
