    1964 Roadster windshield trim clips.

On the lower exterior windshield trim are the 10 clips all the same?
I have been told that the end ones might be different but on this roadster they are all the same and in perfect condition.
    Thanks.

Bruce, if they are the originals I would re-use them, as I recall my 63 roadster has some different ones on the lower corners. but if what you have were working I would stay with what yours, the reproductions are garbage.

      Ed,

      Thanks for your reply.

They are the original clips and in perfect condition, no rust, no bends, etc.

      We definitely re-use them.

Re: 1964 Roadster windshield trim clips.

This is my car and I do know that the windshield has been replaced at some time. I don't know who or why. I suspect they wanted a tinted window and this car was raced. I assume the original clips, but they do fit and the windshield and the trim all fit great. I just had car repainted and the seal around the window was severely cracked and aged.

Can someone point out in the AIM Manual where the windshield is installed or where the clips are referenced?

        Thanks for your help.

          Dale,

You need to purchase a 1964 Corvette Shop Manual Supplement ST-34.

The information you need is on pages 1-3 thru 1-9.

Re: 1964 Roadster windshield trim clips.

JR, Great, Thanks. I do have both Shop Manuals. One page 1-3 of the supplement, I see the diagram. My car is a Convertible, so I am looking at the "867" parts of this diagram. The diagram shows on the lower left side a 9-B and 9-A Molding Clip at the same location. In taking mine apart, it seems like it just the 9-A clip at that point. (this is where the end of the side reveal molding connects.) In the descripting at the bottom of the page item 9. Molding Clip: A-867 and 837; B-867 only. I interpret this to mean the B Clip is only for the convertible?
It also does not show all the clips across the bottom, but it does specify 11 for my 867 model in Installation #2, but this does not reference the B type clip. I am still a little uncertain, but much better grasp that before. Thanks for getting me to the right book and pages.
