I'm putting my 67' body back on the chassis. The body is painted and only has the windshield on it; no doors and the interior is still bare. Is it necessary to reinforce the door area with a bar or cable wire or is the Bird cage enough support were the body will not flex??

Re: 67' body back on chassis without doors..is extra support necessary
I say it is a requirement for a convertible. (Just had this discussion today at my local painter's shop!)
Bolt the upper door hinge to a square tube (or a sturdy wooden stick). Make an L-shaped connection to the mounting plate for the door latch in the rear of the door opening. Make it tight.
I have not done it with a cable, but it seems that would allow the "folding up" of your conv. body, such as in transit.https://MichiganNCRS.org

Not needed on a coupe but definitely needed on a convertible. A simple brace between the top hinge and the door latch is all that's needed. Here's the brace on my current project.

It should be fine with the doors latched. The braces are just substitutes for doors.- Top
