1957 seat dates

My '57 was built in late March, 1957. I had my seats out yesterday, and the tags are each dated late August, 1955. Has anyone else seen seats that that pre-date a '57 by that much?

Have seen some other '57s with '55 dated cloth seat tags.

My May built 57 has seat tags at about the same date as yours. They must have run a whole bunch of them at one time. Not the way inventory is handled these days with J.I.T. (Just In Time) inventory control, but that was 1957. I'm sure yours are original.

NCRS judges do not ask the owners to take the seats out.

Parts of my car or remarkably intact, but largely due to its racing history so many things were changed on it over the years that it would never be a candidate for flight judging. The tag just made me wonder, and I’ve always thought that it probably had it’s original seats.

So how about American Heritage Award with the race history, or even the Concours Judging?
