    C1 Corvette Boneyard

Need the names of Corvette boneyards that would have body parts for a C1. Have already contacted the major vendors. I specifically need the area around the passenger latch post.
    Thanks
    Terry

Would a '57 panel work in this situation?

Robert, no a 57 will not work, I'm told 61 or 62 only. Not sure about 58-60 but again have been told no
Mike, young man was txing and tried to get across an intersection and claimed he didn't see me, drove thru me, spun me around, went across the street and hit a tree! hit me right in front of a cop.

62 is by itself. The door skin ridge is all fiberglass. In 58-61 the ridge was stainless steel. Chuck Hance at COAST CORVETTE in Anaheim or Terry Michaelis at PRO TEAM Corvette in Ohio. They may still have some old doors laying around or know where who has one. Both are on the internet. GOOGLE them up. EBAY PARTS. Do a GOOGLE SEARCH for 1962 R/H Corvette door.

Thanks James, I will try Coast Corvette, ProTeam sold there boneyard to a gentleman in Iowa, I have already contacted him. Are you saying the area between the door and wheel well is 62 only or that the door is 62 only?

Should just be the door , rear clip i think is the same 61 /62. Door cove area would be different 61/62

                            Terry------

1962 Corvette doors as a complete assembly were never available from GM in SERVICE (although sometimes "special orders" of same could be obtained from the factory but only during the particular model year). The outer and inner door panels were, of course, available in SERVICE.

The 1962 outer and inner door panels were different than 1961. I do not know what the differences were. However, the fact that BOTH the outer and inner panels were different implies to me that the difference was something other than just external trim difference. On the other hand, in 1962 the SERVICE price for either the 1962 panels or the 1961 panels was exactly the same. So, that kind of implies there was not a big difference.

The rear panel as well as associated parts seen damaged in your photo are the same for 1961 or 1962. Of course, none of these parts are any longer available from GM and have not been so-available for a VERY long time.

The difference in the inner panel is the way the arm rests mounted to the doors. 58-61 armrests mounted differently than the 62 (through 64) type, so the mounting brackets are different. That is the same reason that a 58-61 large door access plate is different than the 62.
