My 1964 L76 327/365 with the 2818 carb has only one throttle return spring. If I remove this spring, the throttle will stick wide open. On some other Holleys (Model 3310 for example) there is a spring on the throttle shaft that snap the throttle shut even on a bench. My 2818 does not have this and it seems a little unnerving relying on one return spring. I have seen double springs (smaller spring inside the larger) on some GM applications but mine does not have this. Any comments appreciated.

Re: L76 Holley 2818 Throttle Return Spring
Mike,
The double springs are typically a "band aid" fix for an improperly adjusted or gunked up carburetor. The single spring is more than adequate to return the throttle if the carb is properly maintained.Leif
