    Holley Carb Rebuild kit....KB way to go ?

    Hello to all;
    I would like to have my Holley (original unit) rebuilt by a local engine tech, and want to get him the KB kit which is sold online by a known vendor. Is this kit the way to go ? The car just dies at every stop sign or red light after 4 to 5 miles of driving.
    I'm also getting the rebuild kit for the AC fuel pump which started leaking a couple of weeks ago. I have an original AC unit on the car.....no idea when it was last rebuilt. PS - Not driving until these issues are resolved

    Thank you in advance; David

    David, The Holley kit I bought a few months ago from Summit worked well on my 1966. I believe Holley company rebuilds carburetors. I had an AFB carburetor that needed threads repaired. Vintage Muscle Car Parts did a great job, and ran the carburetor on an engine after repairs. It was ready to run when I received it. The price was fair.

        They may not "judge" but are way superior to older ones.

          This is an old post but relevant to my question. The Holley kits have some blue gaskets. I'm assuming they are made with a different material which is why they supposedly perform better. just looking to get some more info on those blue gaskets and whether it is possible to blacken the edges to pass judging. If the material is silicone that might not be an option.

            Tom,you can always try to blacken, but just make sure they are suppose to be black. I thought maybe they were tan. I like the K&B kit they give you exactly what you need and nothing more.

              Edelbrock makes a gasket kit for both 4150's and 4160's. Looks to be a good quality gasket (used more than a few) and they are black. My local Orielly's has them in stock
