Yes, that is an April 21 engine assembly date. "I" were used as a "1" in the gang stamp. No problem with it.

      Michael,
Thanks for the quick reply so what carb do you think I should use. The 634 (66-March-4th week) or the 642 (66-April-2nd week).

      Thanks Bob

If they are in identical shape and condition, and operate equally well, I would use the 2nd week of April one. It is closer to your car build date (as discussed here, engine assembly date is irrelevant for carbs since they were installed during final assembly in St. Louis). But either will work fine for judging within the 6 month rule, the operation and condition of the carb would be what I would want to be the best I could find.

          Michael
Thanks for your help and input both carbs are in the same shape and condition. AS both need to be rebuilt. So I will use the April carb.

          Thanks again Bob

These carbs where built in lots and used up and replaced in lots. My 3-6-66 AO smith convertible has a November of 65 built carb and another 66 built 100 cars after mine has the same November 65 build date carb. You might try the C2 registry for a car with a vin number close to yours and see if he has his original carb and what the date is.
