    Tech articles from various members?

Maybe my search skills are gone but I am trying to find the excellent tech articles from some of the experts here on Timing, Tune ups, etc. I have access to Duke's oil paper which I have printed but I am not finding the others. I am getting ready for a fall "put me to bed" tune up and I am trying to line up all of my literature in addition to the GM Service Manual.

    Are they archived here?

    thank you,

    Gary

The best way to find all my articles that are available on line is to search for threads started by SWCDuke on the Corvette Forum.

Thanks Duke. I had most of your work archived but the computer dumped a while back. I hit the CF shortly.

A lot of good articles are also available on Chapter sites, also.

              Alan and others,
I was finding other web sites with various articles posted, good ones btw, but I was thinking that this site should have a list of documents from some of the extremely qualified individuals here. I know from searching that this has been discussed but google will only carry you so far in that one must often know which chapter to go to. Thus the question. I will visit the CF and relocate my needed documents.

It has been YEARS since I did a full tuneup but then, for 10 years I wasn't even doing 500 miles a year with work keeping me out of town 4 to 5 days a week. Relearning my dial back timing light, my "antique" Craftsman dwell/tuneup box, and others.

Patrick, the San Diego paper by Duke was the easiest one to find since it seems to be repeated and available everywhere.

              Thanks for the help.

                Gary,

The St. Louis chapter has good content here:

I believe Rich Mozzetta started a thread that had links to articles on this site. It sure would be nice if we had an official NCRS online library for this.

                  Joe,
Nice link. And I agree about the online library of "stuff" from others.

                  Thank you.

Thank you Gene for that enticing tidbit of information. If you had not volunteered that I probably would have never thought of it.

Oh, which topic are you referring too? I was looking for some of "the excellent tech articleS"

                      Much thanks,

                      Gary
ps, sorry for the sarcasm but you know as well as I do that, often, the exact wording of the search can make the difference between an "aha" moment and "I'll keep looking". Thus, my post. And besides, I am the only one allowed to be a curmudgeon!

Re: Tech articles from various members?

An on-line, searchable NCRS collection of technical "how to" articles would be great. I would consider it a more trusted source of knowledge than a Google search of the web.

IIRC, this has been posted about before. It probably comes down to who will volunteer to pull it together.

Coincidentally, today I read the NCRS financial statements in either Driveline or Restorer... over $1 million in cash and virtually no debt!

Maybe a very small part of this can fund a tech library.

Does Mike Ingram or other board members read the TDB? Or shall I email the link to this thread to them?

                          Mark,
Despite the "use google and youtube" comments, having a dedicated "DIY" type of section would be amazing. I have a BMW and Lexus and they have have a DIY section but the level of expertise there is immensely questionable whereas we have Duke, John, John and all of you out there (you know who you/they are) who have amazing credentials. In my search for tuneup tips I found a large number of posts, some from folks here that I would love to see consolidated here.

Just thinking out loud waiting for the first of the year NFL kickoff.

                            Gary,

Exactly. Members may find it of value for NCRS to pay a college intern a few thousand $ to index and organize the content.

                              Mark,
Exactly! Pay a small fee for a DIY section? Heck yeah considering the level of talent here. We all know that some is schooled talent (Duke et al) and some is practical and earned/OJT such as Richard's remarkable photo documentation of his 67 restoration and Joe L.'s parts knowledge of parts. I would venture that many of us who ask "how do I ..." would stand up and be counted to contribute.
