Hello,
I am re-building my 1964 steering column (Non-telescopic). During the disassembly, the rubber isolator and wire retainer for the steering column jacket were missing. This is basically a piece of rubber that seats inside the steering wheel hub to dash escutcheon. The insulator is part number 3839150 in the AIM. The retainer is 3839152. My question; the rubber strip has a flat side and a curved side. What side faces (seats) into the escutcheon, and which side contacts the steering column jacket, the curved or the flat? The AIM does not show that level of detail. It is a small matter, but I don't want to get everything back together and find out that the rubber isolator pops out because I put it in incorrectly.
I would appreciate
