It appears Chevrolet has a method of making sure one has to go to a dealer for the smallest problem. I found that the vanity lights attached to my sun visors (2) are inoperative. I went to the owners manual to begin a diagnosis, no joy. I traveled to two separate Chevrolet dealers where I was advised the problem was possibly a fuse, when asked what fuse the answer from the Corvette experts (2) was, they did not know. Both felt that I should leave my vehicle, so an extensive computer diagnosis could be performed (show me the money). I then contacted Chevrolet customer service, where I was told that group does not provide dealer appointed diagnosis. I went higher up the Chevrolet food chain and was given a problem reference #, 13 characters long, and they would attempt, after extensive investigation, who could tell me what fuse services the VANITY LIGHTS & GARAGE DOOR ACTIVATION BUTTONS. Is there anyone in the either that can help me.

Re: Catch 22
Ed, I believe it is part of the Courtesy Light circuit. Are all interior courtesy lamps out? If not, it may be the visor lamp switches. There have been reported problems with those switches.
The fuse is located in the interior panel on the passenger side under the toekick of the carpet. Pull the carpet back from the top edge for access.
For my 2007, page 421 in the owners manual below shows the location of the fuse.... CTSY/LAMP You'll have to zoom in on the image. It's near the right side, next to ECM and below DR LCK.

Found some wiring info too....

Re: Catch 22
Thanks Richard, that will solve my problem. Right now it is 92 degrees in my garage, I will wait until tomorrow morning. I think I am going to have to spend the money and buy the four books that comprise the shop manuals, I will try ebay.- Top
