Looking in the archives I couldn't find an answer to a question about '58 seat frames compared to '59-'60 seat frames. A friend recently purchased some seat covers to reupholster his '58 seats that he said had a '60 pattern. When he got the new '58 covers, they did not fit. He discovered that they were dimensionally too small in a couple of directions after comparing them to another friends '58 with correct seats and upholstery. His frames didn't look any different than the correct seat frames. After calling the supplier, he was told that the '58 frames were one off like many other aspects of the '58, and that he may have '60's seat frames since the covers which were on the frames were the 1960 pattern. So I guess the question is, are 1958 seat frames different (smaller) than the '59-'60 frames? According to the supplier, Al Knoch is the only manufacturer of '58 seat covers and that is who they sourced for the covers. I am of the opinion that the covers were not made correctly. I'm not a C-1 guy, but this has really peaked my curiosity.
