    1968 L 36 Heater Hose Clamps

Doing some work under the hood on my 1968 L 36 including fresh heater hoses. I'm looking for clarification on what's correct regarding the heater hose clamps. According page 173 of the current 5th edition 68/69 Judging Guide Wittek Tower Clamps are used at both ends of each hose. So while searching for correctly dated Wittek clamps I happened to look at the 1968 A.I.M. and on page 345 of the A.I.M. it shows tower clamps used on both hoses at the water pump and intake manifold but spring clamps are shown on both hose at the heater core. Can I get clarification on which is correct before I attach the hoses and fill the system with coolant?
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

One can not trust the illustrations of items like hose clamps and fastener head configurations in the AIMs.
If you had the 1967 Aim, the 1968 AIM and the 1969 AIM you could see the part number changes with out the illustration changing. For Chevrolet Engineering the part number change was all important. The Drafting department did not care that the details of the part configuration was accurate.

We are left with the results.

Trust the photos in the TIM&JG. They are photos of real cars.
