Hood Paint Line Behind Hinge - 64 or C2

In the photo of what is likely an original paint job, where the under hood raised area jogs inward, probably to allow clearance for the hinge, the paint line between the red and black continues straight and then the red is completely sprayed with black for the lower few inches, I'd like to know if this looks correct. On my repainted car this line was likely painted with the hood off the car and upside down and the dividing line follows the offset...in fact it is perfect all the way around the hood. This has been pointed out to me in judging. I have my hood off right now and would like to correct this. Any advice?

Hi Larry
if you do it like your picture shows, your frame judges will get a warm fuzzy and give you a smiley face on the scoring line.
