I just installed the anti theft wheel locks on my 07 and I was trying to find the lug wrench, no joy. Then I crawled under and around looking for the spare tire, missing in action. I got out my trusty impact tools and found a 19mm works just fine. Then I went into the manual to find the torque specs for the the lug nuts, not included in the 500 page owners manual. I torqued the new lugs to 90 ft lbs. if any knows what the torque specs that are recommended I would appreciate you furnish me the info. So far I have read to page 200 of 600 (operation and nav manuals) then I fell asleep, nap time. My next task is turn the pages to reprogram the key FOB, the prior owner never took up that task. I can't imagine you guys with all the C-7's, that book must be 1000 pages long. It has been fun driving and setting it up to suit me. When I get to the nav manual I will call my 12 year old grandson for help. More to the story next chapter.

Re: Where's the beef
Thanks Jack, I got to page 427 and fell asleep. I have both manuals it just takes time to read, go out to the car and put what I read into practice. This has been the fun of owning this Corvette. The Nav manual scares me, I don't have the background knowledge. I just learned how to use a small portion of my Android phone. I lived with a flip phone since cell phones were available. My first cell phone came in a brief case and looked like a through back from the combat phones we had in the service.- Top

Re: Where's the beef
Changing a flat tire on a Corvette is really old school, that went out long ago, and with most high performance sports cars. Welcome to the 21st Century Ed.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Where's the beef
Mike, Bill and Brian, I came out of the dark ages and having a hard time finding the light. I am going to call the GM hot line to edumacate myself.
I was reading those 600 pages and got lost at page 126, (How to program the Nav system & rolling code garage door opener), yikes!!!!! Thanks for your quips and advise. I love humor. The original owner replaced the run flats with Firestone Super Hawks of the correct sizes. I will have to find the original run flats, with the right date codes. I will put them in storage until this 07 is ready for judging. Hope I live that long.- Top

Re: Where's the beef
Ed
I would get run flats back on car before you go to far. I blew a left rear tire on my 15 and made it home with no problem. my son on the other hand blew non run flat on his CTS V and ruined the rim by the time he stopped the car.- Top

Re: Where's the beef
Bill I made the decision to limit the miles on my 07 to 20-25K, and drive on the present tires. I plan on purchasing both the front and rear run flats, with the proper date codes, then store them in big plastic bags, waiting for Al Tremain to write the 07-08 TIM&JG, I am retired and not in any hurry. I will just go around this US and judge for NCRS waiting for my turn. Right now I am collecting original belts, hoses, filters (2) and oil filters.- Top
