PV Question - Correct Clutch Operation (Stiffness of Pedal)

Getting ready to reinstall the engine for a '65 396 equipped Corvette. The owner plans to PV the car so I want to be sure there are no issue with the clutch as far as how easy or hard the pedal is to depress. The owner has chosen a ZOOM brand heavy-duty replacement clutch p/n 30005? to put in the car. I need some advice on the PV evaluation as it related to pedal feel and whether this is evaluated during the PV? I know there has been discussion of the LUK brand replacement clutch kit, does anyone have the correct LUK p/n for a '65 big block and who sells them?

    Thanks in advance.

PV states clutch should engage cleanly no chatter or grabbing or slipping and in neutral and car at rest check for any throw out bearing noise while fully disengage and engage, nothing says what stiffness of clutch and how much play it should have

Only the owner/driver is involved with the clutch operation. The person doing the evulation is just observing the operation for anything out of the ordinary window of operation. Noise, chatter, slippage, smell, things of that nature are the only type of failures one could be determined. So if your clutch selection acts as it should .........all is good.

        Danny and Gene,

Thanks for your input. I'm still waiting on an answer about the correct LUK brand clutch kit part number. I've done some futher research and it appears that the LUK part number 04-021 is the preferred/correct replacement clutch kit as it is a 10 spline disc and measures approximately 10.5 inches in diameter.

        Thanks,

        James

James, That is the number 04-021 that I use in all the 63-67 Corvettes with a 10.5" requirement.
