I just acquired a 2007 LS-2 with 20,000 on the odometer. I have a question for C-6 owners. Has there been any recalls or technical service bulletins published on this year. It is a 6-Speed silver convertible and has so many bells and whistles it will take this old man a long time to digest. What were the original tire size and manufacturer. Other than foreign, Asian tires, the car is original. I will not be able to tell what might not be original as the manual has not been written as of yet. Where are you Alan Tremain! If anyone has any advise on the operation or what to look out for please let me know. I CAN TAKE IT. One more question, how do I add this beauty to the list of NCRS Vettes I have owned. I believe the number is 6, C-1 (3), C-4 (2), and one C-6. One more thing that made this sale a high note, it was sold to the original owner on my birthday in 2006.

Re: New corvette in the family
Thanks Mark, The only recall I find has to do with the Hard roofs. Mine is a convertible, automatic at that. The TSB list will take a while to digest.
I will be talking to the original owner soon, hope all of the problems have been discovered and repaired. I noticed a number TSB were in regards to the ZO6, mine is base engine LS-2 400 HP. A blast to drive. I have to get used to the clutch as it grabs suddenly not like my L-98 clutch which took all day to respond. Onward and upward.- Top

Re: New corvette in the family
I can't imagine reviewing hundreds of TSBs. I suspect most were running changes corrected during production, so probably only a few pertain to your SN range and model.Mark Edmondson

Re: New corvette in the family
You can check the recalls by entering your vin on this site.
TSB's are another story.
I have a 2006 C6 with 95K on it. The car has had minimal issues.
A water pump at 90K
Replaced the harmonic balancer.
What were the original tire size and manufacturer?
From 2005 to 2008, Corvette used Goodyear Eagle F1 GS Extended Mobility tires as their OEM tires. For the Z51, it was Goodyear Eagle F1 SC Extended Mobility Asymmetric Tread.
Front P245/40ZR18
Rear P285/35ZR19
Original tires were expensive and didn't last long. Tires and NAV have changed a lot since 2007.
I would consider running the Michelin Pilot Sport ZP (zero pressure)

Re: New corvette in the family
Change the clutch fluid at least every time you change the oil, if not more often.
Pennzoil DOT4 seems to be the most popular on CF, or you can buy the GM stuff.

Re: New corvette in the family
To all who have responded, I will attempt to respond. Paterick, The exhaust system is original, I just drained and replaced the clutch fluid, I had a problem with that system in my L98 1990, my question may sound dump, but are you referring to the air bag system (AIR broadcast code) shocks are original. Rick, I have yet to go through the two manuals (NAV and Main books) so I can not answer that question. Once I have digested those two books I think I will attempt to write a mock PV manual. David, you hit the nail on the head. I just hope I am alive to reach that goal, Taj here I come. It keeps me young, and the all mighty knows it works for me, driving Corvettes runs my end of watch backwards. I know my NCRS Bio shows 81, that's not correct, it should be 79. One year at a time. Rich, who was the provider of the 2007 tires, you know, judging and such. Buy now, wrap in black trash bags, save them for the proper year. Good to know the different size between front and rear.- Top

Re: New corvette in the family
Congrats on the new ride Ed, you will enjoy a more modern Corvette, especially on this long NCRS Road Tours over the next few years to Nationals very far away. The creature comforts are much better, and the nav system in a C6 is not very modern, but adequate for finding Greensboro or French Lick.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: New corvette in the family
Ed,
If you're planning to drive very far from home, a new DVD for your navigation unit is a worthwhile investment.
(Don't ask me how I know this.)
I replaced my original Goodyear tires with comparable Michelin; they were less money and MUCH less road noise.
Enjoy your car!B.D.

Re: New corvette in the family
Thanks Brian, the original tires w/b new and kept until judging time, if I can find them. I do not know if Goodyear still sells them, but I have been know to find obscure parts for my 93 ZR-1 and my 90 L98. Let your fingers do the walking.- Top

Re: New corvette in the family
Jaime,
maybe since you are experienced with the 2007, and a very low one at that, you can help poor Ed in another thread with his need for rubber baby buffy buggy bunpers, a quick release bra and some jazzy lug nuts?
ps, I know. You have a lot you can work with here.....- Top
