no they are correct for a 55 v8 could also be 43-5R

Unlike what most folks think, resistor plugs were not first used for Corvettes for the 1969 model year. They were first used on Corvettes for 1955. After 1955 they did not show up again until 1969,though.

Ronnie,
Although 43's were the common plug you will be happier with a hotter 44 or 45 plug. The type designation will not show once the ignition wire boots are on. So no loss of judging points.
