    L78 HT cable from distributor cap to coil. Which way round.

    My L78 high tension cable from the coil to the distributor has a right angle plug at one end and a straight at the other.
    If I connect it so the right angle is at the distributor and the straight at the coil the top the shield seems to squash the cable.
    The AIM shows a straight plug at each end. The JG does not mention it.
    Perhaps the Electric Ltd set is not like the original. Whats the go?
    Thanks,
    Gary

    Gary, I believe the wire can only go one way, tower on the coil is slightly larger?? is one of the boots larger??

      It looks like the right angle plug fits on the distributor but it will go either way.

        Gary, that's my bet how it goes.

          Gary,

          From my original L78 - the right angle boot goes on the coil and the straight boot into the distributor cap.

            There is less compression on the cable from the lid when the right angle plug is on the coil. I have tried to shoe it here;

              Gary just a thought is the coil in its lowest point on the mounting bracket?

                Ray & Ed are correct. Make sure coil is almost touching intake. Should have plastic sheild inside lid which will compress wires

                  Yes coil is almost touching the intake.
