    1967 Starbursts

Can anyone tell me how to keep starbursts on the wheel and not on the side of the road? I seem to loose one a year.

Big ass dead blow hammer every time you drive.. You can also get the ones with the better grippers.

Originals had clips made of gray spring steel. Reproductions used a cheaper type material that does not grip as well. But if you "adjust" the clip gap in the reproductions to provide a tight interference fit before installing each time it will help. I adjust to 0.10 inch gap for my early Western Wheel reproductions.

Have not lost one yet in 24 years.

Try cutting a groove (length of the clip) in the retainer ring where each clip stops on the ring. I use a thin grinding wheel on my air grinder. Little harder to get the star burst off, but I have done this for years with success.
