You can't feel any detent when pulling out the light switch to "park", or to headlights "on". I held the button "in" and tried to pull the knob out. The knob will not come out. I purchased a new switch, but need to get the old one out first. If the the old one is original, maybe I can salvage it. Any pointers on getting the button to release the knob?

John, its been a while, But I believe you pull to the park light position first then then push the button in, then slightly in just a bit then pull it out.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: Light switch removal trouble
Okay. I got it out. A little corrosion on all contacts. So, I took it apart w/o loosing any springs. Put it back together, and now the pull lever will not catch inside. I tried the new one right out of the package and the same thing. I don't want to take the new one apart. What did I do wrong?- Top
