    U.S. Parts Content

Anyone know the first model year Corvette sported foreign sourced parts? What were they?

I'm not aware of foreign sourced parts for C3, but correct me if this isn't accurate.

I know C4 featured Girling brakes from Australia, and beginning in 1988(?) Denso AC compressors.

Some facts to know and share at cocktail parties:

    - The window sticker for a 2019 ZR1 says U.S./Canadian parts content is 68%, with the engine and transmission US made.

    - A 2008 Z06 sticker says 77% US/Canadian with a US made engine and made in Mexico transmission.

    - A 2007 Z06 Ron Fellows Edition: 85% with US engine and transmission.

2007 may be the first year these data are shown on the sticker.

I think if you want an all USA made Corvette look for one with chrome bumpers. That assumes it is not restored with parts from who knows where.....

So is 1977 the first year for an internationally sourced part?

1963 was the first I am aware of. The speedo & tach castings were made in Switzerland. All C-3's used Flex circuits made in England.
