    1968 Temp sensor connector

I have a low milage (37K) 1968 with the 390 HP 427. While changing spark plugs I managed to break the wire from the temperature sensor connector. The first picture shows the connector that I pulled from the sensor. I did not find a boot or cover under the car only the connector. I want to repair it with the correct part or parts so looking in the A.I.M. it's pictured with what appears to be a boot of some sort and the second picture I attached shows what Lectric Limited sells as a repair part. My question to the experts is:
Does this look like a correct part ? If possible could someone please post a picture of an original temp sensor connector so I know what to look for? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

There was no "boot", per se. What there was was a "whitish", nylon (plastic) insulator over the brass electrical contact. From what I can see of it in the photo, the LL piece looks accurate.

1968-71 Corvettes used a pin type temp sender (1956 did, too). Other Corvettes used a button type sender.

By the way, IF this connector with insulator was ever available from GM (which I've never been able to definitively determine), it has not been available in a LONG while. Any used examples will be deteriorated. So, reproduction is about the best you can do.

Yea I know what you mean. Exhaust heat really takes it's toll on these parts. I just ordered a new one direct from Lectric Limited. There's just no way to have that bright shiney green wire blend in with the older wires. Oh well
