    57 brake light switch

the brake light switch seems to stick sometimes. It appears to be aligned properly with the brake pedal and makes contact but when the pedal is depressed it seems like it doesn't open completely. Is there some type of wet or dry lubricant that would work safely with this electric switch and not gum up over time?
Anyone else ever have this problem and any thoughts on a solution?

Bob, probably time to replace that switch. It is an easy fix.

I think the original switches had a metal body (you might check yours and report). Current replacements are plastic if that matters to you. They do work fine, though.
