1964 Expansion Tank & Radiator Inspection stickers

What is the correct green decal "number" for the expansion tank & radiator for an April 7 built '64 (L76; no A/C) car. Judging guide only states that clear stickers with numbers are used, it does not state what number was used. It says, "one or two green numbers is attached to the top surface of the radiator and on the expansion tank".

That confuses me - is there one green number on each component or is just one number on one component (usually the expansion tank)?

Vendor supplied stickers vary; one sells a set with a 3 & 7 (does not state which goes on the tank and which goes on the radiator).

Another vendor sells a 3 & 8, and again does not specify which goes where.

Which is "most" correct, 3 & 7 or 3 & 8? Do I apply both stickers or just one? And, what # goes where?

BTW - before I posted this question, I searched the forum for an explanation - did not find a complete answer.

My original '63 has a green #7 on the expansion tank only. The radiator number has probably been removed after 55 years.

Those are inspection stickers and correspond to the inspector. They are not dates but just signify that the radiator or expansion tank has been inspected for leaks, etc.

Thanks to all, including Don Hooper who sent me a PM with a satisfactory explanation, that is consistent with Joe's & Perry's. I am going with 3 & 7.
