    56 Wiring Harness

    I have a 56 Corvette without power windows and without a power top. I am installing a new Lectric Limited wiring harness that I purchased many years ago. For the starter solenoid connection; I have a yellow and black wire and from the end of those two wires about 14" inches up, I have a connection with a violet and yellow wire. I am trying to figure out what the violet and yellow wire are connected to? Could it be related to a power top? Thanks! Mark

    I forgot to mention that the 56 is an automatic.

      Mark I believe those wires are for your neutral safety switch.

          Thanks Dave! You came through again! Now for my search for one of these that is missing on my 56. Sincerely, Mark

            Mark;

            I wish I had known that you needed this part earlier; I just let go of my last one. Fortunately they are not too hard to find, or too pricey.

            I sold this for $50, needing restoration.

            There are a few on Ebay, but priced way to high $295, $325...ridiculous.

            Good luck.

            Ed

              Ed: Thank you very much for the thought. I thought that I might go through my parts stash before I buy one online. I have my parts listed similar to the GM parts system. Today was a great day, as I found one in the stash! Mark
