Grossmueller's Corvettes in Phillipsburg NJ closing at the end of this week

I cannot believe this is not already posted here. However, I searched separately for Grossmueller and Phillipsburg, and did not find any recent discussion. This information was posted on corvetteforum.com recently. This information was copied word for word from another Corvette discussion site. I do not know if this is true.

"Grossmueller's Corvettes in Phillipsburg NJ, is closing at the end of this week. For those not familiar with Grossmueller's, they were one of the preeminent sources for 53-62 parts.

Werner Grossmueller passed away 12 years ago, and though she wasn't involved in the daily operation of the business, his widow had kept the business open till now. Apparently, she recently found a buyer for the building, who wanted to settle quickly. From what I was told, the buyer has no interest in the business, just the building, and any inventory that's still in the building next week, is going in a dumpster!

Carol, who has run the business since Werner's passing, was told ... on Friday, that she's gone at the end of the week too." ...

Just talked to a guy at Grossmuellers and he said there were things in the works but he would say whether it was going out of business of not. Can't believe they would just trash their inventory. Maybe someone near there can stop in and get more info!

Just spoke to them today and they are not closed yet. They are there until Friday of this week as far as they know.

A close friend and NCRS judge I live near that talks to Carol and buys parts from them almost monthly (and has for decades) has been told by Carol personally that they aren't going anywhere.... I guess we'll have to see what unfolds....

I talked to Carol and she said the building and all the parts were sold together.Without any notice to the employees.She said they would be closing at the end of the week. Maybe something changed.

Some of the parts in inventory are there on consignment and can't be thrown out or sold to the new owner. I believe you will find that Carole will be in the parts business still.

What a shame. They were very knowledgeable on the old stuff. I don't see anyone filling their shoes for good old parts

Carole will still sell parts.

In any case I always used them as a source of last resort due to their high prices.

A few months back they sent me a wrong part and did not refund the shipping cost to send it to me. A poor practice for their mistake.
