    Restoration Battery Replacement?

Was about ready to finally pull my '73 off it's jack stands where it's been sitting since last November and figured I would replace the Restoration T-60 battery I purchased several years ago. To my disappointment, I found the Restoration Battery folks are no longer in operation. It's a shame, I've always had a good experience with them and they seemed to know what they were talking about and had a great product.
So, with them out of the picture, any recommendations on another supplier? I looked at the Antique Battery site this past weekend but are still reviewing their site etc.
Any insights or recommendations would be appreciated-
    Thanks,
    Tim

Thanks Gene but I no longer show the car as I achieved Duntov several years ago, just want the 'right' appearing battery

If you still have the old reproduction battery you could drain it, cutout the bottom, remove the internals install and connect a sealed gel type battery to the existing terminals and be back in business. Unless of course it all ready has the gel type installed then it is much easier.

          Re: Restoration Battery Replacement?

Antique Auto Battery in Youngstown, Ohio is slowly shipping batteries. If you are in a hurry and have a show next month forget it. But otherwise you will get the battery. I customer in CA just got his battery two weeks ago. He waited at least two months. I got one for my 28 Ford and it took about two months.
But those batteries are major bucks. My '28 battery including shipping was $340.00
And I am not getting the truck judged. JD

Paul, is the gel type a fully cased battery inside the original appearing battery case?

I’m assuming the bottom needs to be cut off.....?

Yes the battery is inside the other the gel type is one an Optima is a spiralcell type can also be used. Yes you need to remove the bottom of the old battery.

                Paul-
                It is a gel type.
Have never tried that, is there any type of written procedure somewhere?

I spoke with them last week about getting one for my 60. I was told they were running a 5 week lead time at the moment.

                    Thanks Tom-
I guess I'll call them but as of yet, they haven't responded to my two messages w/ a couple questions. I was reading some reviews of them and they didn't look all that great regarding shipping and customer return contacts. I suppose I'll throw caution to the wind as they seem to be the only 'game in town'
