Thanks Harry, that looks good, maybe they, or I, can weld the muffler to the tailpipe.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Having walked this route I believe Harry's advice is the best.
Go with Gardner.
Depending upon the options needed (Extensions, heat shields, hangers and clamps) Expect to pay between $750 and $950.
This will be approximate Steel or Aluminized pricing, unsure about the premium for SS. Shipping to the west coast is typically around $150.- Top

Have the Gardner off road on my 64, clamped it all together and drove to my muffler shop, they welded the muffler for me, works perfect. It was the aluminized version, still looks new 10 years later.

GREAT ADVISE from an old pro. Dan really knows C1 and C2 Corvettes. He was on the original C1 TEAM for 58-60 manual back in the early 80's. And he has owned and driven his 64 DUNTOV 64 FI coupe across the USA. My kind of Corvette owner.Over 80 Corvettes of fun ! Love Rochester Fuel Injection 57-65 cars. Love CORVETTE RACE CARS

Please check out the photos of the Gardner system, the muffler has about an inch protruding out for the exhaust pipe to slip over which can be clamped while system is adjusted for your car, then welded up against the muffler as per originals after clamp is removed of course. Early 63 were bent to avoid the under seat depressions. Bottom line, the Gardner fits perfectly and does quite well in Judging, function and sound are excellent.

Yes, the challenge will be getting the weld on the muffler right. I have a welder who is an artist and of course, the entire system will be coated with gunky blackout anyway.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
