    Venting Crankcase on 62 Corvette

I'm replacing the 327 original engine with a crate 350 and there is no draft tube venting hole on the 350 block. Will the oil fill cap be enough to vent the crank case? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

The crate 350 engine should have provisions for a PCV system. That's what I would recommend to vent the crankcase. Yes, it won't be an original configuration item for 1962 but the crate 350 is not going to fool anyone, anyway.

I had a 65 coupe with a 350 in it and had a oil fill hole in one valve cover and a old Offenhauser breather on the other valve cover. Worked fine.

Agree with Bruce, done this on several engines with no apparent problems

I have used the LT1 valve covers and replicated the rest of the 1970 factory system.
I liked the factory look even though it wasn't factory for a 1957 Corvette.
I even used the LT1 air cleaner so the hoses connected correctly.

I'm not sure where one would get the Offenhauser parts.
If you go that route be sure the breather has baffles or the valve cover does.
Otherwise you will have a oil mist on everything in the engine bay.

You can find those breathers at Summit Racing or Jegs and probably J.C. Whitney!
