You're welcome for the photo.
I just tape them off when I paint, then use acetone to remove any paint still on the machined areas. It works much better than trying to sand them or whatever. Q-tips work great.
I've even removed paint in these areas from fully-painted calipers.
You're making it much tougher than it needs to be by sanding them or whatever.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS
