Re: Dumb question re 70 LT-1
For comparison, you might look up vintage road test results. A C/D road test of a 1971 LT-1 with 3.70 gears shows "11.0 - 16.0 MPG on premium fuel". It's not clear how/when this was measured, for example: Fuel used during their testing, or a controlled MPG run of some sort.Mark Edmondson

Re: Dumb question re 70 LT-1
LOL, fit right in there at 15. Best I ever did was close to 21 - done by 'NASCAR' style drafting.
But, in any case, I'm a happy camper. It's not the mileage per se, (the grin factor wins every time) but knowing that the car is set up appropriately.- Top

Re: Dumb question re 70 LT-1
Monfort had huge feed lots in Greeley Colorado. You could smell them before you could see them. The truckers hauled "swinging beef" from Colorado all over the country. Their tractors were very powerful and the consistently ran 90+ mph. I had to stop for fuel before they did, even with my modified a 32 gallon gas tank. Those were fun times. I hauled Strohs west and Coors east. That paid for the trip.- Top

Re: Dumb question re 70 LT-1
Thanks. Was asking for selfish reasons to see if you had a roadster and then to see if possibly you would consider selling. I have been looking for a LT-1 roadster for about 9 months now. I want to buy from a NCRS member and they are hard to find. Sorry to bug you.- Top

I have a feeling that even if you were looking for a coupe, Terry probably would not be interested in selling. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
