Everyone;
I just finished installing my black hose ties for the expansion tank and the front harness on my 63.
I attempted to install the black straps from Paragon and I had no luck getting it through the original hole in the fender.
It even came with paper work telling the installer that a flat spring clip could be used on the back side and then covered with undercoating to hide it. (The spring clips were included) Pictured just to the right of the straps.

Instructions were to use this clip if the holes were oversize. I even made a small driver and beat on the plastic tie in an attempt to get it to seat. I gave up before I broke something and was going to use my originals till I remembered I had another set from Corvette Central. I pulled them out and measured the outside diameter of the push in. .250 same as the originals! I checked Paragons and they were almost .012 larger at .262 give or take some.
I tried the Corvette Central strap in the hole and I pushed it in by hand using my home made too. (A deep socket would work just a well as my tool). I couldn't believe the difference in quality of the straps. They looked identical but were not. The Corvette Central straps seemed to be made of a softer plastic and were easier to lock in the tab after it was bent over the wire/hose. They were easier to bend that the first set.
My advice? Purchase the Paragon straps if you holes are oversize. They might hold in a slightly oversize hole and will certainly work in a grossly oversized hole using the supplied clips. If your holes measure 1/4" use the Corvette Central straps. Try a 1/4 drill bit in the hole to see if it sized correctly.
Hope this helps
