    Paying for parts using Paypal.

    Everyone;
    I just used PayPal for the first, only and last time to pay for parts.
    I made a mistake and had two of the identical items in my order, only need one of.
    Vendor sent a confirmation was sent via email, when I caught the error.
    I immediately called to correct the order.
    I was informed no changes were possible because my payment method, PayPal.

    I got to thinking about changes verses canceling the complete order.
    This was not an option that was given or even suggested by the vendor.
    I called the vendor back and was able to cancel the complete order.
    I submitted it correctly with a CC this time.

    Just a heads up for frequent flyers.
    I hope this information is in the correct section and appropriate.

    You made a mistake and it's Paypal's fault?????

    I use paypal every day both paying and getting paid and have for the past 15 or 20 years.

    The only mistake made has been mine also.

      That was the parts seller BSing you. Refunds, full or partial are easily done using PayPal by the vendor much easier done than a credit card.

          When available I always use PayPal. It eliminates having to re-enter personal data and credit card info. Makes the buying experience much More convenient.

            NO paypal for me. Learned that many many years ago when they tried to get into my bank account (had not used)
            Remember paypal job is to take the money they have no obligation past that. A credit card will stand behind you.
            In the near future my local chapter will only use paypal so I'm not long from these cars.

              Everyone;
              Thanks for the feedback.
              My point is the vendors policy was not disclosed and was different than a Visa card.
              If the vendor has policy's that vary from any norms it shouldn't be hidden and/or only disclosed when there are issues.
              If i use them again I will clarify any policies first. It appears the policy could be the vendors and not Paypal's.
              Still highly unlikely I will use them again. For sure not with this vendor.

                The refund policy is e-bay’s not PayPal. PayPal is a collection/payment medium and follows the refund policies set by the subscriber i.e. e-bay & the seller.

                    I ordered on line from CC paid with PayPal, five minutes later I tried to ad a item, I called CC and explained I would like to add a item, they said if I paid with a credit card they could add the item but since I paid with PayPal they could not add the item. PayPal does have the ability to freeze your $ and PayPal is easy to use but when something bad happens and it doesn't have to be your fault they have control and it SUCKS!

                      My purchase was not an EBay purchase. It was an internet order from a much used Vendor.

                          How about a different perspective. I always use PayPal when I order from Corvette Central. And yes, if I try to add an item the CC agents says they can't do that with a PayPal order.

                          I sort of see that as a good thing that PayPal will not allow the vendor to simply add to an order that has been process through PayPal by the buyer. That makes sense to me. When you use a credit card, I believe the card processing is done by the vendor so theoretically the vendor could add whatever they want to a credit card order.

                          By the way, even if an NCRS chapter adopts PayPal, you are not required to have a PayPal account. You can process a credit card payment through PayPal link to your chapter.

                            I've filed Paypal disputes and had them resolved with no issues...
                            eBay bought Paypal by the way....but I know this is a private vendor sale...
                            As to "getting into my bank account"....not sure what the problem is with that -- the world is changing...

                              Hi Frank

                              eBay use to own PayPal, PayPal became an independent entity about 6 yrs. ago probably because the IRS was leaning on them to have ebayers report their yearly sales & PayPal wanted to keep more $ (my niece use to work at PayPal). eBay is using PayPal but is presently shopping for, or developing another financial institution.

                              Your checking account or bank account backs your transactions, if the amount goes over your account then your credit card gets hit etc.
