I doubt it but am not sure. I definitely avoid carbon core wires. I use the terminals/boots off lectric limited repo carbon cored wires and make up a set of Packard 440's. these Packard wires, with their metal cores(stainless?) never separate centrally like the carbon cores. mike

According to GM the spark plug wires were "carbonized core".

According to a March/April Engineering letter copper core wires were proposed as an upgrade to the 579D package. Along with right hand mount generator and oil pan baffle.

If approved it would go into production once the parts made to make ( 150 ) 579D cars were used up.
