57 temperature sending unit wire brackets

We purchased the wire brackets for our 57 temp sending unit from Corvette Central, their p/n: 301055. The pic they reference shows straight ones, but these are bent. Are they supposed to stay bent or do we straighten them out? From what we are seeing on the internet, they are bent until late '60. Are we reading that correctly? Also, they mount using the driver's side valve cover, inboard side, screws, right?

don't bend them. they go on bent in a 90 degree fashion. i take it you have a 283 utilizing aluminum valve covers, in which case the clips secure with the two innermost valve cover fasteners on the PASS. side. if you have a 220 HP engine, they take a stamped steel valve cover. mike
