Caliper O Rings between each half

Are the little O Rings between the caliber halves the same as what you would get in a O Ring kit as far as compatibility with the fluid. Not referring to size. For some reason after a year I have 2 callipers that one o ring has failed and is leaking now. I have severqal O Ring kits and am pretty sure they will be OK with the fluid but just checking with others on this.

What brake fluid are you using? If new dot 5 read up on the recent posts regarding new dot 5 damaging seals.

I used DOT 3 fluid, looks like maybe the edge of the O Ring might have been pinched slightly, also notice little lip on the face that might not have been letting the two half fully seat. I filed the surface flat before reassembly. The second O Ring was perfect.
