    1967 Wheel and Tire question

Asking for advice on my 1967 corvette tire and wheel replacement. My car has original rally wheels with 20 year old tires. I would like to take them off and store them.

Question is what wheel and radial tire combo would be best for an occasional drive? Currently has white walls but open to any tire.

    Thanks

20 year old tires would have the DOT markings on them, so a new set would be the same, so just install a new set of period correct tires.

If you are looking to have radials for improved drivability then select a tire that has the correct "fitment" and purchase a set of rally wheels.... they don't need to be correct dates etc. Used wheels are readily available at swap meets and probably on EBAY.

...repro or used '67 Rally wheels. Search the Web and big online retailers for the 215/70R15 size. Try to find one with at least an H speed rating, but it may be an offshore manufactured brand that you've never heard of. There are probably many to choose from.

In addition to Tire Rack, etc, try tireseasy.com

I think your car would look better with blackwalls.

        Kenton,
Have you considered Torque Thrust D wheels with red strip tires?

        Here's mine:
