    67 sunfire yellow

I'm trying to determine what is the correct shade for sunfire yellow? Is there anything that I could compare my spray out too? I have the corvette chip pamphlet for 63-72 colors, but when I have 984 code mixed up it is lighter yellow than my chip.
    Thanks, Dan

    Dan:

NCRS has a paint specialist you can go to for advice. He is Tom Ames, and his contact information is in the front pages of the NCRS Restorer. Tom is an exceptional paint and bodyman who is always willing to share his knowledge. Also Ed Ballard is a person that many use for paint spray-outs and tints etc. He is also a paint expert. I do not have his contact information, but someone in the NCRS office should have it. Tom will also have it.

Maybe you are referring to John Ballard. But when matching colors make sure to compare actual spray outs to spray outs and not color dye patches which are not paint at all.

        Re: 67 sunfire yellow

I've been to meets where each sunfire car looked completely different. Some have a tint of green green and some are too pastel. Very hard color to get right in my opinion.
I would try to get an idea from an original car.

I had a 65 for 12 years it was Goldwood Yellow - I found that the yellow color was slightly darker ever year it was made during the sixties. In all the shows I attended during a lot of the time older yellow cars seemed to have a green tint to them? Tom is the man when it comes to paint!
