    Carter AFB Accelerator rod bushings

I am trying to correct a few point deducts from judging and purchased the bushings from LIC. The white ones came in the package Part #28-47 and the black one were what was on the car. The judges did not think the black ones were correct. Can someone post a picture of what should be correct and laid out? I have the AIM and it shows a bushing and a sleeve. Am I missing something? If so, where can I get the right part? I need one at both ends of the rod.

John, I think that my 63 bushings are a gray color, and the flat surface of the plastic bushing has a bigger head, I do not think the LI are correct, if no one post a pic I will take one of my 63 later after work tonight. Its amazing what the judges can find, especially when there's little to find.

I don't think I have the right bushing or sleeve. Can someone verify?

John, Call me at 314 843-7545. I'l send you what you need. The black insert is made with a raised outer lip, You have to push it half way thru and it will lock on the lever. Then you insert the white plastic bushing to accept the throttle rod. You will need one for both ends. Bob K

              John,

Here's a pic of what are original and what is not.

The upper ones are originals and the bottom are replacements.

The accelerator rod is zinc or cad plated also.

the black items were a rubber-like material and what long island sells usually passes. its the WHITE nylon bushings shown from long island that get a deduct because originals were a light yellow color, not snow white. mike

You can also get these from GM Restoration https://restorationpartssource.com/s...r-details.html

LIC's are not correct. Different material used on the "White" pieces. The original ones were translucent not solid white. Also, the holes on the LIC's white pieces are not centered correctly or at least they weren't on the ones I received. Left is correct, note offset hole in LIC. In fairness LIC is a great outfit and 99.9% of the time, their stuff is OK.
