Is this how the seats are supposed to be?

    Guys,

I'm restoring my seats for my 69 coupe and just noticed that the seat back controls are both on the same side of both of the seats. This car has been apart for 15 years so I can't remember, but doesn't this mean that one of the seats would require leaning in to reach around the seat to move the seat back up to enter the back compartment??? That just doesn't make sense. Is this correct???
    See attached pic.

Mike as strange as it may seem this is how they were.

If it makes you feel any better, the '67 seat design was the same way. It puts the release to the outside on the driver's side. When I rotate my seats (driver's to passenger and vice versa), it keeps the release to the outside for the driver's side.

So I guess the c3 seats are like the c2 seats they can be placed on either side.

70 and up seats with shoulder belts cannot be interchanged because of the belt openings.
