How do you tell if your rear bumpers are rechromed original or reproduction?

My bumpers are missing chrome underneath in the corners where the horizontal section meets the vertical section. The length of the missing chrome in the horizontal section is approximately 2". I am also missing chrome underneath the horizontal section of both bumpers on the inside radius where the bumper wraps 90 deg from the rear panel to meet the rear quarter panel. The length of this missing chrome is also approximately 2".
